Need to know Tournament Information

The San Jose Nisei Bowling Association welcomes you to participate in the 2024 Fuzzy Shimada Memorial

Tournament at 4th Street Bowl in San Jose, CA. This year’s tournament will be held the weekend of October

19th & 20th, 2024 and will, again, feature two events, Open Trios and Open Doubles where teams can be all

male, all female or mixed. All Trios squads and the first Saturday Doubles squad will be limited to 30 teams.

Lanes will be oiled before each Doubles squad. Tournament schedule is as follows…

Saturday, October 19th 

1. Doubles (30 teams max) 9:00 AM

2. Trios 11:00 AM

3. Doubles 2:30 PM

4. Trios 5:00 PM

Sunday, October 20th

5. Doubles 10:00 AM

6. Trios 12:30 PM

Spots will only be held once we either receive your rosters or entry fees.

Non-Nisei bowlers who have at least 21 games in a recognized league during the 2023-24 season will be

eligible to bowl in addition to those who are currently bowling as a regular member in a recognized

Nisei/Nikkei league.

Participants will use their high winter league average from the past 2 seasons (2022-23 and 2023-24). A 2024

Summer league average will only be considered if he/she has no average from the 2022-23 or 2023-24 seasons.

If a 2024 Summer league average is being used, please submit a league sheet with your entry.

If a converted Sport or Challenge league average, using the USBC’s conversion tables, is the highest average,

then that converted average must be used as the bowlers entering average.
