Changes to 

ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP

Section 1: Membership in this Association is open to those of Japanese ancestry bowling in Association sanctioned leagues and to those who qualify as a member of an Association sanctioned league. The following specifications are for existing and new leagues with Non-Nisei bowlers requesting admission to the Association.

 

a. The term Nisei as applied herein shall include all persons of Japanese ancestry.   

b. New leagues must be at least 51% Nisei members and be comprised of at least 24 members

 

Existing association leagues must be comprised of at least 51% Nisei bowlers at the beginning of the winter league season. Substitutes may not be counted as a part of the total number of Nisei bowlers.

 

c. If the previous recognized league is in compliance with Article III, Sec. 1b at the beginning of the winter season, but during the season they fall out of compliance it will still be recognized by the Association for that season.

 

If the previous recognized league is not in compliance with Article III, Sec. 1b at the beginning of the winter season it will not be recognized by the Association, The league bowlers from the previous year will be given the opportunity to join the Association by paying the current membership fee. This will entitle the bowler to the same benefits as a regular member.

Change to Article X, Section 1 (as passed by Board 9/13/10)

Article X – Special Funds

 

Section 1: This “High Game, High Series” Fund shall not exceed six hundred dollars ($600.00) and the payoff shall be a maximum of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) per bowler per year.  Bowlers may only qualify once.  If more than eight (8) bowlers qualify, the six hundred dollars ($600.00) shall be divided up equally.  To qualify for the award, any male member must bowl a 300 game or 800 series or higher, and any female member must bowl a 275 game or higher or 775 series or higher in an Association sanctioned winter league.  In the event that the Association Treasury does not have sufficient funds to pay out that season, all qualifiers shall be paid whenever funds become available.  This “High Game, High Series” Fund is a discretionary award, contingent on the financial health of the Association and may be subject to annual review and/or amendment by the Association Board of Directors.
